"POOCHA PALOOZA" AT THE NEW DOG PARK
Town of Smithfield workers have been sprucing up the Second Street Dog Park this week in preparation for Saturday's "Poocha Palooza Dog Party" sponsored by Willowrun Veterinary Hospital. The event, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature "dog vendors," food trucks, music, and "Best Dressed" and "Best Trick" competitions. Smithfield Parks & Recreation opened up the new park this past year. It's located next to the Civitan baseball field at the corner of Second and Holding streets, a block off Bright Leaf Boulevard (US 301 South).
