What's the Fourth of July without a patriotic parade!



Smithfield Fire Department's Engine No. 1 leads the way for South Smithfield's neighborhood parade, held ever year since 1994 for any and all comers.







Patrick Templeton (left) accompanied the parade on his saxophone ---  a one-man band!


















A vintage red
wagon carrying a cute little girl was the closest thing to the usual parade float featuring female beauties.







BELOW: Two young girls show off their balance act on wheels.







Refreshing lemonade, pink and regular, was given to parade participants and spectators as a free reward for braving the heat.


BELOW: The Fire Department's portable sprinkler offered another means of refreshment, especially enjoyed by the little ones.






Downtown Smithfield's early Fourth fireworks show




The annual fireworks show on Downtown Smithfield's South Third Street was held early this year --- on Sunday, June 30.


These scenes were captured from a vantage point near First Presbyterian Church.
